Here’s Patty Haller’s pickle recipe. Should work with any kind of cucumbers if you cut them into spears.
Cucumbers and onions, sliced and layered in a big bowl.
1/3 c. salt
1 c. sugar
2 3/4 c. water
1 1/3 c. vinegar
1/2 t. Mixed Pickle Spice
Combine last 6 ingredients in a pot and heat to a boil. Pour over the pickles, let cool and then refrigerate in a tightly sealed container. Try adding other veggies like radishes or peppers!
